Actually, it's completely painful.

It depends on the job requirement..If it requires you to keep standing for 8 hours or more, you cannot call it pointless. And if you remained busy/engaged all the time, you will be surprised to see how the time has flown.

If you dont like it you can find other places of employment. You can get paid to stand there or you can get paid to bust your butt for 8+ hours a day. Personally id be glad to only work 8 hours standing or not.

I work 12 hours a day. No I work 20 hours a day if you include the house work

This will cause you to have vericose veins. It may take a few years to develop but they will be unsightly and could be a danger to your health Quit the job

but that is how some of them are
get some support hose (or support socks if you are a man) and a back brace, and some good shoes and insoles

I would call it pointless if you stood there for 8 hours and did not get paid for it!!!!!!

Depends on the job, now doesn']t it? I mean cashiers don't get to sit down and someone has to ring up your purchases!
