although it is a well appreciated main dish, we do not need a special occasion to cook it. we eat it regularly.
it takes some time to roll the leaves, that what's make it special and not easy to cook often. Accordingly, when prepared for a dinner invitation, or on holidays' meal, it makes the menu special.

I had stuffed grape leaves in a small, out-of-the-way restaurant in Canada, along Hwy #77, on an ordinary day trip. Probably Lebanese.

The filling was like cabbage roll casserole.

I can't recommend grape leaves, but cabbage roll casserole is great. It's cabbage rolls without the sloppy tomato's mess on your shirt.

here....only wait for spring so I can get some grappes leaves to cook. Bcoz of the weather, I cant keep the leaves for the rest of the year.
So......after 10 days i'll be able to cook that..I have looked today at the leaves, and are growing fast.
You are invited !!!
