There is not a single government employee that is without coverage and that is over 35 million Americans . We have no trouble paying taxes for salaries and providing health care coverage for those people . From the parks department cutting grass to the president of the United States they all have coverage .
You may also want to know that millions of people who work for non profit foundations also have coverage and those people are also paid for with donations from working Americans .

Seems the people without coverage are the ones working to pay taxes and make donations to pay the wages and health care of others .

We have millions of construction workers ,warehouse employees , farm hands ,and processing workers , along with retail workers who have no money left to pay for health care on the wages they earn after rent , electric food and car payments and insurance to be able to get to work .

Please do not tell me that the poor working tax payers do not get medical care .

I think you make an interesting point. We already have universal health care in this country because no person can be refused treatment at a hospital. Anyone who needs care gets it. That meets my definition of universal health care.

Sounds to me like you answered your own question!
One thing you forgot to mention,...Senators, and some Congress-persons, have healthcare for life !

The main thing that I would add to your list, is that many single parents, (poor ones especially), are restrained from going to work, and remain on welfare, because even with a $7.00 per-hour job, they are dropped from the welfare roles, and lose their children's only medical care. That means that potential taxpayers, who could share the burden of a National Health Care plan, are not working, because they can't risk leaving their kids uninsured.
It's good to see that someone on Y/A understands the issue, and the crisis. with universal health care.

Don't forget the medicare and medicaid we also pay for. Pretty much only the working class suffer. Prisoners are even guaranteed healthcare.

It's true no one in America goes without health care. How ever, you can still get a job and work without it. You won't have a choice with Hillary care.

What will be the cost for it? Are all those millions of illegals gonna be covered?

I actually see your point. I doubt it carries the day, but we shall see.

And Thinker makes an excellent point as well (and as usual).

I take it you do not have a clue about what "socialized medicine" really is.

Learn about it then we'll talk

Here is a clue...."Single Payer".....or "Government Run"
