campfire....I love the smell of a campfire and it makes me think of many times we camped when I was younger. We had a lot of good times and good memories from those days.

I was nearly killed in an auto accident over ten years ago and was in the hospital for four months. The only memory I have of it is the smell of gasoline. Now whenever I smell gas, the hair on the back of my neck goes up and my stomach turns. I've also notice as I get older, 55 now, smells promote more and more vivid memories than when I was younger. Some good, some bad but very vivid. RScott

As this is in Garden and Landscaping, I would say peonies remind me of my Grandma and actually my mom's whole side of the family. Cigar and pipe tobacco also bring back family memories, as does the smell of cabbage (cabbage rolls). Fresh cut cucumbers remind me of the delicious meals my mom could cook.

Lily of the Valley reminds me of my first Mother's Day when my little son proudly handed my gift of cologne over to me. Wow, I can think of even more smell associations, but best I let everyone have their say and give them a thumbs up!

It became magnificent. I as quickly as bumped right into a guy at a cafeteria who used an after-shave that smelled lots like the deodorizer that they use in port-o-sans. I had to bypass away with out ingesting something. i've got consistently questioned who sells that unfavorable fragrance and no remember if everyone ever informed the guy he smelled like a port-o-san.

Moth balls remind me of my Great Grandmother's house. Strangely enough I am one of the few who actually like the smell of moth balls and it is probably because I associate the smell with my DaeDae who was the sweetest little woman in the world. For the longest time I didn't know what created the smell until I walked down a grocery isle that had them. Anyhow, I bought some just because of the memories they returned to me. However, I soon learned that not everyone appreciates the smell of moth balls so I had to give them up.
I still get a warm fuzzy feeling when I get a whiff of them from time to time.

The smell of lavendar in our garden reminds me of my wife. It's perfect. The smell of lavendar makes her happy so she has a bowl of it next to the bed, and she wears lavendar scented lotion sometimes which I can only smell when I'm curled up close to her in bed. So wandering in fields or in our back yard, I get to feel close to her, even if she is gone.
