Sure - it was issued as a B film in England in 72 or 73 and people liked it better than the A film. Based on a simple premise of a road rage then a chase. I think lots of Directors could have done it but Spielberg got lucky. (so there)

Yes, I have seen it a couple of times. The first time I saw it I said to myself "I read this story". I remembered reading the short story "Duel" a few months before in Playboy magazine.

Yes I've seen it and where the truck hits the phone box I've seen in another film. It's the same footage, but can't remember the name of the other film
