In no way should mcnabb be mentioned in the same sentence as Manning and Palmer he is no where on the same skill level as these players. This article for HBO is ridiculous. It's not b/c he's black it's b/c of poor skill. He is the most overrated QB he doesn't carry the Eagles the Defense does. How can he even try to play the race card b/c of his poor performance?!?

I don't think in 2007 you can pull the race card. there are plenty of black QBs in the game now, it's not that big a deal.

Did McNabb not hear people saying Peyton Manning wasn't that great because he choked every year and didn't bring home the Super Bowl? Now Manning's a hero.

I mean, did Donovan look at the films of the last games, balls thrown into the ground (still doing this after 7 years in the NFL), laying out receivers by throwing the ball 3 feet over their heads, he rarely hits a guy in stride unless it's a long ball down the sidelines (like his one throw to Curtis) - guys always have to stop or turn back for the ball which kills their forward motion. He's just not consistent anymore.

Granted, our receivers aren't always getting open, but some of his throws are horrendous.

Put away the race card. As someone said, we booed Mike Schmidt, but only because he was kind of a jerk in person (I know people who were neighbors with him) and never did anything to connect with the city - till that day he ran on the field with the long black wig on. We threw snowballs at Santa - granted, it was a pizz poor Santa, but still. He should know this city will riase you up higher than anything when you produce (a la TO when he first got here) or will let you know exactly how poorly you are doing when you're not producing.

His job is to make accurate passes and lead the team down field to score - and he gets paid a crapload of money to do it. Of course we're going to boo when you don't do your job! How many times were we in the red zone only to settle for a field goal? Grrrr!

This really is a shame. The obnoxious fans in Philly have finally gotten to him.

I think it is blatantly obvious to most astute fans (ones without a chip on their shoulder thinking the whole world is racist) that McNabb is off base here.

Perhaps 20 years ago this position would carry some weight -- not in today's NFL.
The fact is that there is so much money on the line now and so much emphasis put on winning, you can't afford to be racist and be successful in the NFL.

McNabb has been a victim of perhaps overly-harsh criticism. That, however, is a funciton of playing in the cesspool that is Philadelphia.
This city even booed their own hero, Mike Schmidt!

McNabb is now feeling the wrath of Philly fans, and sadly he is blaming it on race. Granted, nobody knows what personally is being said to McNabb by some fans, and he was racially profiled by Rush Libaugh a few years back. That may be where this misguided blame is coming from.

Perhaps he should take a look around the league next time before jumping to such conclusions. Mike Vick was superstar despite being one of the worst rated passers in the NFL (pre-dog fighting).
Vince Young made the cover of the Madden football game despite throwing for only 150 yards a game as a rookie.

Certianly, there isn't racism going on there.

As to being overrated, I wuld disagree there. Before he got hurt last year his numbers WERE as good as Manning or Palmer. Look them up.

While he has never won the big one, he has taken Philly quite far on many occasions, and has never had good receivers to work with (save a brief period with TO).

However, he may never be that QB again. Clearly his performance to date this year has been awful -- he missed so many open receivers on Monday it was ridiculous.

I wouldn't be surprised if was out of Philly next year.

Rush Limbaugh says in essence that black quarterbacks get preferential treatment becasue the media wants them to succeed.

Donovan McNabb says in essence that white quarterbacks get preferential treatment becsue the media wants them to succeed.

I wonder if the consequences for both will be the same.

McNabb is gettting heat not becasue he's black but because he's had a much better than average team around him for most of his career and never won much. It's pretty much the same heat that the very white Peyton Manning was getting before he won his ring.

Some scholars guess that Moses’ wife Zipporah might have been black since she was a Cushite Cush is an ancient name for an area of Africa. Some propose that Bathsheba was black. Some believe that the Queen of Sheba who visited Solomon was black. The Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8:37 may have been a black man. Ethiopians are mentioned around 40 times in the Bible. The Simeon called Niger in Acts 13:1 may have been black. The Bible does not specifically identify any person as being black-skinned. The Bible also does not specifically identify any person as being white-skinned. The vast majority of the Bible took place in the Middle East, in and around Israel. Neither "black" nor "white" people are common in these regions.

Ever since he came into the league the media has told us he's a great QB. Obviously he believed them more than I did. Now he's older, been injured a lot, what skills he had are eroding, so obviously it must be a race issue.

Yeah, well, its got to be somebody's fault he's not doing well.
I was a not necessarily a fan before but I sided with him when it was Donovan vs. TO, and Donovan vs. Limbaugh.
Now I'm just kinda bored with the whole racism/black QB thing. Find another card to play, becuase that one's getting old. How about Go-Fish. My kids seem to love it.

McNabb is playing in a city where expectations are way too high. He better try finding his way out of Philly ASAP.

They better sit him before Sunday, because if he plays like he did against the Redskins, the Lions will destroy them at home. What will Kitna to Calvin, Roy, Furrey and McDonald be able to do to them if Washington can put up 20 pts?

Lions 41 Eagles 15...

I guess TO wasn't the only one with issues on the Eagles Super Bowl team...Sounds like he's feeling sorry for himself...
