Well, like st.anger said in that aspect not much! But our views and understanding have shifted in many aspects. We may feel like we own everything, but we also know what is out there to own much better. Not too much better, but still much better. Examples:
1. We no longer believe that we are physically the center of the universe. (maybe emotionally we feel that way!!!)
2. We have awareness that our actions can change nature to better or worse.
3. We have learned much about controlling our environment. (but not nearly enough)
4. We have learned about the nature of natural laws and placed ourselves to a many new standards. (again not nearly enough)
5. We have started to understand we are not so special as not to be animals like any other. (although not generally accepted by the masses)
6. We have learned that no matter how confident we are, we may be wrong.
7. We have learned that not all data is available to us under any empiric view.

We have much to be proud and much to be ashamed... that is the road to growth. Our shame in turn brings motivation for improvement. (that is something else we have learned about nature)

Human views about the cosmos have changed drastically since the beginning of the Renaissance. it was widely accepted that the earth was flat, and the center of the universe. The planets, sun, and stars all circled the earth. the popular view in philosophy was that man's goal was conquest of nature, and all the elements that were threatening to us. If we could control nature, we could all eat, and would not be killed off by the plague every couple of generations was the basic premise for that. It was a very popular assumption about nature even by the likes of descart , and Kant.

There's been no fundamental change. We still think that the planet is ours to with as we please. This is why it's taking a huge dump on us now.
