As a Braves fan, it had to be the 1991 World Series. Watching Dan Gladden cross home plate in the bottom of the 10th cut like a knife. The Braves had been a HORRIBLE team for years, and to have them have a fantastic season, play that well, come that close, and to lose it stung pretty badly that night.

I opted to out this in P&S because there's more traffic here than in the general Sports section.

2004 Yankees......

Need I say more?

Okay actually, I will say more:

1992 Boston Bruins.......2-0 lead on the Pittsburgh Penguins in the conference finals. Then they go and lose 4 straight.
They would have won the cup because Chicago would have been their opponent.

Haven't been able to stand Mario Lemieux or Jaromir Jagr ever since.

We Cubs fans love to wallow in our misery. The 2003 NLCS was surpassed only by the 1984 NLCS. I thank my lucky stars I am not old enough to remember 1969.

In today's paper Donovan McNabb played the race card in regards to Philadelphia's loss to the Redskins. Rather than state he played a sucky game, he stated that he was judged harshly because he was black. I thought he was above that. Philadelphia only sees green in it's Eagles, not black and white, and it was wrong that he didn't own up to his own mistakes instead of finding some other way of getting out from under hisown failings.
