I disagree, and do not think in these terms. A written constitution provides a governage that is not subject to the whims of the people and prevents a rule by a mob or a tyrant.

In the US, our Constitution provides checks and balances which operate to keep any branch of government from assuming too much power.

The reason the Liberals have demarcated Bush as "the decider" is that they are crying in their beer over his reelection and his opportunity to appoint 2 Supreme Court justices.

And with the Democrats in Congress cautiously supporting the President, Leftists are not getting their way.

Of course I disagree. The dead cannot rule. They are dead. In the US we have a written Constitution. No one rules us. We are governed by elected officials.
We choose to follow the Constitution (for the most part). If we do not, we amend it. There is a process for doing that.

No, what would you do, change the constitution every time someone dies? It is a rule book for the conduct of government. It has provisions that allow it to be changed by amendments. The problem is, people want to read between the lines, instead of making amendments that actually write the lines into it. I am all for change, that is decided by the majority, and we have that means available, and it's called amendments.

No. It means we are ruled by law, not the arbitraary decisions of current politicians. The Constitution is there to restrain the government from infringing on the liberty of the people.

I disagree. The US Constitution can be changed at any time assuming a majority vote and could be disposed off if the nation so chose.

Disagree. In the case of the US Constitution it is a living document that can be, and has been, amended to reflect current values..........

Not...it was a layout of rights to protect those who are living...not a document to have the citizens be ruled by those who are dead.
