I understand the question but am giving a literal answer. Thirteen years ago, I purchased an Appaloosa mare, ugliest horse I've ever seen in my life, malnourished, underweight by 300-400 lbs., headed for a meat market. Perhaps the draw was that no one else would want her.As a horseperson, it was bad decision, the healthier she got ,the more difficult she became to handle. I don't regret it now though. She's taught more these past years than I ever thought I knew to begin with. As ugly as she is to everyone else, she's beautiful to me, and truly a horse of a different color. We don't follow the crowd, we blaze our own trails!

A horse of a different color---like the one in the Wizard of Oz that changes different colors--lol :) I love that horse!

Usually if people do their own thing the rest will see how happy & secure it makes them and they'll follow--they'll become a "wave of popularity". It's a cycle.

a wave of populartiy is very appealing.. everyone most usually once in their lives wants to be popular, especially during those akward teen years. .. however, i think those that ride a horse of a different color, are more likely to be happy and successful with their lives. this is because of the way they live as individuals and do things for themselves rather than others.

The wave of popularity is doomed to break on the shores of indifference while I can ride my different-colored horse for as long as I like.

A horse of a different colour. Popularity fades and the come down is hard I'd imagine. Being different is always challenging and never fades. It defines you for life.

I'll take the horse of a different color. I don't much like most peole and most people don't much like me. Anytime a large bunch of them start treating me as if I were special, I start looking for the sharp edge in it.

Horse of a different color. I have always bucked trends and kicked tradition while riding on my path.

Jesus rode a horse of a different color and if my Saviour did I certainly think I should follow.
