as you watch your team drop another game...Yankees only 2 and a half back I mean thats got to be a little nerve racking when boston had such a demanding lead all season!!!

I didn't say anything against boston I asked a simple question if you're nervous about it. You want to attack the yankees for having money well guess what we wouldnt of had all that money if we werent the greatest city in the US. That and oh yeah we have been winners. So keep talking about our millions being spent its because we earned it!!!!

I am not a little nervous. I am having a freakin' heart attack! At one point the Yankees were in 3rd place, 14 1/2 games back. At that point, everyone was saying.."Sox have it in the bag"..Not me. I was saying " I will not think that until the Division is clinched." As a life long Red Sox fan, I know what can happen. Of course it is still possible for the Sox to take the division but only if they can win some games! That looks darn near impossible right now. I hope hope hope they can still pull if off but, hey, as the Yankee fans have been saying all season, "we'll take the wild card at least. Being in the play offs is the most important thing. Not how you get there!"

Why are Boston fans reacting with the yankees & all the $$$ spent on players. That wasn't the question. Look at how the Red Sox had a 14 game lead dwindle down to 2 1/2 & how the Boston fans were talking how they were going to win World Series & how the Yankee season was over & they wouldn't make play-offs, well never count the Yankees out when it comes time to make a run for the play-offs. I give Red Sox their props for 2004, they deserved it but I do have a question for Red Sox fans though. Why is it when Yankee fans bring up the fact that they have won 26 World Series titles, you fans say that is the past but it's different if you bring up the 2004 season which by the way, was your first title in 86 years & in that time the Yankees did win a few championships, was it 26. Yankee & Red Sox fans will always have that rivalry in baseball but neither team sucks or are losers.

Just think of this.
Is it reasonable to think the Red Sox will go 7-6 in their final 13 games. Yeah, I think that is not too hard to imagine.
Is it reasonable to think the Yankees can go 10-2 in their final 12 games. Yeah, I can see that happening.
If those two things happen, the Yankees will take the AL East!

So some Boston fans are admitting here that the Yankees are a better team because of their money.

In a word...YES!
It makes me wonder what is going on that all of a sudden... Sox play seems so "not there."
Though an avid Sox fan, I enjoy the "rivalry" between the Sox and the Yankees. Kind of like "old time" baseball before $$$ entered into the game so heavily.

There is very little advantage in winning the division or going as a wild card, and both teams are going to the playoffs. The big plus in winning the division is home field advantage but that will only occur if the division winner has a better won and lost record than the other division winner. I don't see an advantage in playing the Indians or Angles and that is what the Red Sox are looking at as a division winner or a wild card.
