I have been reading for months and months now that one of the BIG problems with the Iraq debacle, and why we "shouldn't" bring home the troops, is that "Iraq won't step up to the plate" and run its own country, and solve its own problems.

Now, with this Blackwater incident, Iraq has, indeed, stepped up to the plate and made an independent decision. They say Blackwater will not be allowed to operate anywhere in Iraq.

Will America respect their decision?

"An Interior Ministry spokesman, Brig. Gen. Abdul Kareem Khalaf, said, "We have revoked Blackwater's license to operate in Iraq. As of now they are not allowed to operate anywhere in the Republic of Iraq. The investigation is ongoing, and all those responsible for Sunday's killing will be referred to Iraqi justice."

To "Troublemaker" - I have no earthly idea why you feel compelled to insult my integrity. Upon what basis are you slurring my character by saying that I am not interested in the truth? What gall.

To "regerugged" - "bush regime" is a completely accurate description of the criminals in the White House. They were not elected any more than I was.

To Michael F: You are an embarrassment to the military. I have a brother who was a in the Navy AND the Marines, and he's much more "liberal" in his views than even I am.
You say you "gave up your freedom?" I say "Baloney."
Who forced you to be in the military?
Don't whine to ME over a CHOICE you made.

And people like YOU who say if one does not LIKE America they should LEAVE America make me want to puke.

You know NOTHING about patriotism, you are an automaton.

If God had not meant for me to think for myself, I would have been born a SLUG.

If you are happy believing every lie your Uncle Sam feeds you, more power to you. But do NOT lecture to ME about criticizing a criminal government.

AGAIN to "Michael F" - Oh, that's rich. You come back and say "debate them don't yell them down" after you post something to me about leaving America and going to the middle east if I don't like it here.
That is rich.

I'll tell ya, fella.
I like it here just fine.
What I do NOT like is what the current political despot has done to the Constitution.

The US have a history of overthrowing democratic governments who didn't comform to the will of the US. South America is the prime example. The US supported the overthrow of democratic governments in Chile, Argentina, Guatemala, Brazil to name a few and then the last attempt was the CIA backed coup attempt in Venezuela to overthrow Chavez. What makes you think Iraq will be any different?

Blackwater "accidentally" killed the VP's personal bodyguard a few months back and before the Iraqi's could get justice Blackwater spirited the murderer back to the US.

this mercenary will never stand trial or be punished.

has the US been responsive for Iraq's call for justice? no. i just wish the neocons had an ability to "put the shoe on the other foot". how pissed would we be if Cheney's bodyguard was killed by an Iraqi mercenary working for government security in this country?

no, Bush will stand behind BW until the end. after all, they provide financial support the same people he is politically aligned with...like James Dobson to name but one.

Greetings. our government respects no decision made by the American people and certainly not any made by a puppet government that they put in power in Iraq. note if the election in Iraq was actually democratic then the leader would be the one chosen by the majority of the people in Iraq, and not someone of a minor sect of the religion. Did you know that until Bush it was illegal for a American to be a mercenary in a foreign country? If you were caught fighting in a foreign war for pay they removed your citizenship and you were no longer an American, but rather a stateless person. Now it is a highly paid government respected position to be a merc.

so far they have

If the Iraqi government really wants blackwater out, I think they will leave. The US will try to change the Iraqi's minds but in the end they will respect their sovereignty.

Short sweet and to the point:
The Bush regime has no respect for "we the people" here in the United States, I have no clue as to what makes anyone think that they would have any respect for the Iraqi government or their laws.

They will give the 'lip service' of the sovereign Iraqi government - however I'm betting that there will be a backroom deal that will take this off the headlines in a hurry. The last report I saw showed nearly 100k of contract militia over there - making the total American presence 260k people.

Worth noting that in a pre-autonomous decision, militia from the US are immune from Iraqi prosecution. *isn't that interesting...*

"Bush regime" is a pejorative phrase. The US government will show respect to the government of Iraq. We always do.

The incident should be thoroughly investigated before any actions are taken. Remember, lots of allegations have been made, in the past, that turned out to be incorrect.

Bin Laden has said that he will not stop fighting the non Islamic world until everyone is a Muslim. Due they think everyone is created equal? They have one goal and that is to end the free world as we know it. So I ask you when is the time to fight this war and stand up for all men and women of this world and make it safe for everyone. I supose you would like to live in the world created by Bin Laden? Time to go by yourself a Berka.

Blueridgeliving:
As a vet I have given my freedom to protect your freedom as well as all military service members have. If you do not like America go to the middle east and live their for awhile. I have for three years of my life and you will come to understand freedom and what’s it like to have it and what it like when free men and women do not have, then maybe you can ask a question like this when you have seen the world at its best and at its worst.

To bad you did not join the military you have a good fight in you. Good luck to you in your fight to right the wrongs and make the world a better place for all.

Oh one last though the greatest gift in the USA is the right to question others in open debate. Try using it I mean debate don’t just yell down someone that’s easy. Debate them! For your information I am a liberal and I don’t like what I see in politics on both sides. To much hate not enough debate

Sorry if you don’t like what I said but I think you need to re-read what I said and not take it out of contexts. Here is what I said you said was so rich:

"If you do not like America go to the middle east and live their for awhile. I have for three years of my life and you will come to understand freedom and what’s it like to have it and what it like when free men and women do not have, then maybe you can ask a question like this when you have seen the world at its best and at its worst."
