Ghandi's assassin, Nathuram Godse, was a Hindu radical with links to the extremist Hindu Mahasabha, which held Gandhi responsible for weakening India by insisting upon a payment to Pakistan. Godse and his co-conspirator Narayan Apte were later tried and convicted; both were executed 15 Nov 49.
The Mahasbha party was founded in 1915 and still exist, albeit is rather less (maybe) form.

Nathuram Godse was the one who assassinated Mr Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. However the plot was concieved by Narayan Apte, Gopal Godse and Nathuram Godse. Out of that Gopal Godse is still living. No single group planned this assassinatiion, however the trio were former members of Right wing Hindu Group - Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Although the RSS have oppossed the Gandhian Ideolgies, they have always condemned the assassination and have never proved to be a part of it.

I know that this may cause slight conflict because of the who ha around this subject but ppl forget that the forgotten Shaheed Bhagat Singh also had a massive impact on the British in india, and all of the Ghandi movies which i have seen are very disappointing because sikhs on a whole hardly get a look in

Gandhi was shot by Natha-ram, Godse. Out side Birla House in Delhi, as he was walking to a evening prayer meeting.
There are many such group still in existence, all over the world.
He had Islamic inscription on his for arm, he was hoping for a major blood shed but had change of heart and I believe he truly repented the action he had taken, and himself immediately confessed that he was a miss guided Hindu.
Luckily before the riots could take on a monstrous proportion, "All India Radio" made continuous appeals for peace and made know the indented deception. Nehru and Dr, Ma-v-lana Azad took to the stree, arm in arm, to show Hindu Muslim unity, in Delhi, similar marches were conducted in many cities, by both prominant and common people, all over India, to show the unity between Hindu and Muslims.
Law makers in India were in a process of cancelling Death panelty at that time but it was passed only after Natha-Ram, was exsecuted my hanging with Gita in his hand.

The Muslims. It was their division of our great nation and the insistence of Gandhi to pay them all, to welcome them in India, and to also allow them all kinds of freedom in the country which made Hindus feel cheated/betrayed, especially after Muslims killed many Hindu men, women & children.
Maybe he wasn't, but to the average man, Gandhi started looking like an all-out muslim supporter.
As anyone can see it was a wrong idea to allow Muslims to be here in India after they got Pakistan.
Muslims are No.1 parasites in the country and troublemakers / terrorists...their contribution is always zero, yet they keep making outrageous demands on our poor country. They want more & more... (Khachchar Committee Report)
But Bhagavan knows what is in their hearts...

Jinnah ordered "Direct Action Day" to be observed on 14th August,1946. At that time the Bengal Presidency was under Muslim League rule and Mr. H.S. Suharawardi, was its Premier.
Communal clashes broke out in Noakhali District in eastern Bengal.Mahatma Gandhi rushed to the place and brought about normalcy.
In retaliation ,communal carnage engulfed the entire nation,The British , who could put
down the 'Sepoy Mutiny' of 1857 and had a good record of maintaining law and order,
failed to deal with the situation adequately!
The Britishers' last experiment with 'Interim Govt' consistiong of Congress and Muslim League representatives proved a big failure. So Britishers, who wanted to give India independence in June,1948, hurriedly divided the country and left on 15th August,1947!
Bapuji was very sad over the developments.Nehruji sent him to Calcutta to ensure thatComunal clashes do not erupt.
He laughingly said: "Bapuji, is my one man brigade in Bengal!"
In October 1947, raiders from Pakistan entered the princely state of Kashmir and captured one-third of it.Consequent to the division of the country,a sizeable amount had to be paid by Indian Govt, to Pakistan.
The 'hawks' advised Nehru not to pay it.
Since Pakistan has already taken the Kashmir issue to UN and bound its hand,Bapuji with best intentions to protect the new nation in the comity of nations, urged the Govt.of India to pay the amount to Pakistan,When there was some delay he went on his "fast unto death'! The All India Hindu Maha Sabha and RSS bitterly attacked Bapuji as siding the Mus;ims!
On the evening of January,30, 1948 (168th day after Independence), Nathuram Vinayak Ghodse accosted Bapuji on his way to the Prayer Meeting, politely asked as to why he was late, and the next minute
pulled out the revolver and shot the Father of te Nation at close range.Saying, "Hey, Ram!',the real Ram Bhakt who chanted "Ram, Ram!", dreamt of re-establishing "Ram Rajya", fellbleeding and died!
It is alleged that he had a Muslim name tattooed on his forearm to create confusion as regards his real identity!
The important question has been not "who"
killed Bapuji but "Why did he kill him?"
A yong man wrongly informed and whose emotions had been whipped purposely was used to enact that great tragedy. He died to warn the youth not to fall into trap of wily politicians.

The real killer behind the groups that kill, is also within all of us. It is the delusion that it is OK to harm others because our individual lives stop at our skin. We all know, intellectually, of the many ways we are obviously interdependent, yet the delusion overpowers the knowledge all too often. We forget the twelve-fold chain of causation, we forget what we know, and act as though others were at fault for our problems. Our yes cannot see the connections,
