****Where is the impeachment trial?****

The greatest crime that could be committed by an elected official in a Representative Democracy is information manipulation and lying! The case has been made that President GW Bush lied to the American people. The charges that President manipulated evidence that sent us to war in Iraq. If these are true allegations and not political maneuvering then were is the impeachment trial? If these allegations are true then it is up to congress to preserve our democracy! If these allegations are true then at the very least there should be an impeachment trial to bring REAL evidence before the American people and take that evidence out of the realm of speculation and, dare I say it, CONSPIRACY THEORY'S!!

**This is the process of our political system!

Currently the Democrats have a majority in both Houses of Congress. Because of this fact it would be very easy to bring official charges against the President of the United States since all that is needed is a majority vote. In a stroke of luck it just so happens to be the Democrats and those they represent who are presenting this "evidence" for impeachment. ***So, again, were is the Impeachment trial? If these allegations are true then at the very least there should be an impeachment trial to bring REAL evidence before the American people and take that evidence out of the realm of speculation and, dare I say it, CONSPIRACY THEORY'S!!

If there is no Impeachment trial then I level a charge at the Democrats, charges just as dangerous as those leveled at the President. Those charges would be lying to the American people in order to gain political standing. If there is no Impeachment trial then the Democrats are manipulation evidence and lying to the American people that in turn is undermining our democratic system! So were is the Impeachment trial?

If there is an Impeachment trial I will support the Democrats efforts 100%! If there is real evidence and the President is removed from office I will support you! If there is no Impeachment trial then I invite you to join me in voting out of office treasonous political party members that are destroying to our Democracy!!!! Help preserve our Democracy!!!

yeah goes to sure it's an argument without any fact or basis, they should be held accountable, if they say something and can't back it up, that's just slander and heresay.

These people think they can say anything and not have to be accountable because they will claim it's free speech, slnder isn't covered under free speech there are laws and penalties for lying about someone.

Things don't always go your way, but it doesn't mean that you can make stuff up to manipulate people against him that's just wrong, no matter who it is, this isn't even about just the president. It's part of being adult some, maybe some of you need to try acting like adults.

Just because one president was impeached it's not like lets get them back, even though there isn't anything to impeach him on. The asker is right there are plenty of Democrats in there, and some Republicans on their side, so if they don't think impeachment is called for or don't have reason to impeach the president why should people say they should?

Because the Liberals have the equal hindrance handling this embarrassment because the Conservatives. It's an issue of face saving for the entire Nation. To cross after the President now, finally those years, is a bit of overdue. We are too deep into this mess of Iraq now as it's. To impeach the President now might most effective upload to the National agony. For greater or worse, he's every person's President correct now. Liberals and conservatives alike. We haven't any option however to face by way of the Bozo and desire he does no longer create any further messes earlier than leaving.

I agree 110%! I think the Dems are way too timid, however, a majority of one is not enough. An impeachment trial that failed to convict would only serve to make Bush/Cheney more bold, and the Republicans know that a successful impeachment with Bush/Cheney removed from office for the very high level of crimes they have committed would destroy the prospects of the Party for decades, if not forever. I do wonder why Dems don't start bring the charges forward, with evidence....that may be one of the reason's they are so low in the polls....timidity. They also know, altho is no reason not to bring justice to bare, that if the truth were fully known, it would be catastophically damaging to American government. I think they are very concerned about that. Can you imagine the reaction if Cheney, Rummy, etc. WERE found to have had a part in 911, if Iraq really was about oil and domination, planned before 911? Everybody would go bonkers!

Fact is that if the liberals were going to impeach Bush, they would also have to impeach many of their own including the front running democrat presidential candidates. They all saw the same exact information provided to the president by the CIA. But again, if they looked for impeachment, then they would also have to look at treasonous acts committed by the director of the CIA at the time. Since that individual was a Bill Clinton appointee, George Tenent, the Clintons both would have to be further disgraced for putting him in office. There would be too many question the Clintons would have to answer and there would be too many more investigations into the people Clinton appointed. As it is, many of them have mysteriously died, are in jail, or just simply not able to be contacted.

Liberals would not take that kind of a chance and Pelosi did not attend that secret meeting held by the Clintons and the leadership of the democrat party.

Oh yea, for all those who are making excuses for the liberal democrats, realize that liberal democrats are cowards and have no taste for fighting for what is right. I mean look at what they say about Iraq.

The case had not been made. If you want to impeach Bush then you have to impeach Congress also! They voted for the war, they supported the war, they funded the war. Get real!

With the new election I expected changes in congress, but all I see up to this point is THE SAME AS USUAL. We are entering into a new election for a new president--perhaps no one want to rock the boat, that is not what we deserve nor wanted. I say impeach......

It isn't as easy as you think. It took a long time for the Republicans to get something to stick on Clinton. Also the Democrats don't roll that way.We are the compassionate ones, maybe too much so!

You need to take a civics lesson and learn what is involved in impeaching a president. Without significant support from the republicans it won't go anywhere.

Bruce Fein is by no means a conspiracy theorist. He worked in the Reagan justice department and wrote the first article of impeachment against Clinton. He's a constitutional scholar, and conservative republican, who feels there is enough grounds for impeachment. Others agree. You have two choices. You can continue to be a blind apologist for Bush or you can research the issue objectively.

It is easy to cry impeachment but much harder to pull it off. The Democrats have a slim majority in the House but not in the Senate (it is 48 to 48 with 2 independents and one of them is Lieberman). After Clinton the country is weary of impeachment and the Democrats are afraid that doing so will further alienate them from the public. I agree with you that we should have the trial in order to bring out all the facts but the Democrats are too afraid of public opinion. Still, they have the power to have hearings and should use it to bring out all the lies and cheating that this administration is guilty of committing.
