When Guillaume Latendresse started wearing #84 with Montreal, it was the last number anyone hadn't previously used (from 0-99 as whole numbers anyway) You can search the jersey numbers worn throughout NHL history here - http://www.azhockey.com/shirts/shirts.html

Not anymore, Latendresse of Montreal wore #84 last year and that was the last number available.

All of the numbers have been used effective 9/29/06, when Guillaume Latendresse took the #84. It was the last number that had never been used.

actually, there was until this last year. I forget what it was, but it was first used this past year. And now 99 different numbers have been used in the NHL, there are none left.
