2 weeks ago I installed a midi controller to my PC. As I was installing it my computer froze and I had to restart it as it was the only option I had.

When I restarted the PC the fan kept spinning and nothing happended. So I rebooted it again and the computer didn't start at all !! After waiting for about 10 minutes and I started the computer again. But this time just as the XP logo came up on the monitor at startup I got a blue screen which said "Hardware Malfunction, Contact hardware vendor ".
From them every time I started the computer I got the same message and PC restarts itself.
Now my computer won't start at all. I have even replaced the power supply. But nothing happens when I turn on the computer.
Can someone please help. Thanks

Pull the midi card out and see if it will start. It could be off in the weeds, conflicting with another device, or it could have damaged something in the pc.

That happened to me some months ago, the only remedy I know of is to have a repair man look at it, one of the files in you start up sequence has become corrupt and is now useless. I just hope you saved all your files on disc somewhere, since some of them may not be retrievable.

try removing some unimportant parts of the cpu like the sound card, etc one ny one so you can pinpoint the exact malfunction... if you can get it working, then you found your faulty device...it may also be that your BIOS is adopting to changes...
