First off I'm a big Yankee fan! That is horrible that Shelly Duncan did that to a Red Sox fan. It's wrong if he does that to a 10 year old fan. If it's an adult fan than it's all fair game that would actually be funny.

It would be Manny being Manny, but if Manny is being Manny it means he's not giving anything to fans. My question about this whole thing is how do we know that the kid didn't write Boston sucks before he got the autograph or after he got home? The whole thing seems fishy to me, if a guy takes that long to sign something usually you're going to read right away what it says.

If the Yankees do signal Manny & despite the fact that they do not, the haters nonetheless doubt they make play offs however I would not below estimate the Yankees at no time. Even with all of the accidents final season, they controlled to win 89 video games greater than a number of the groups within the league & wow, pass over play offs for first time in decades. Next 12 months they will have to begin a different streak of creating play offs & running on championship #27

It would be awesome. I would have loved it if I was 10. 5th graders aren't these innocent little kids that never heard the word suck before. They say much worse on tv. The kid shouldbe thrilled that he got an autograph and that the player was cool enough to joke with him.

I think it's silly for anyone to do that. I mean why....
Actually, I am more disgusted with the kid for wasting a perfectly good piece of paper to get an autograph by some idiot Yankee player that no one gives a damn about. You couldn't pay me to waste 20 seconds of my life to get a Yankee player to sign an autograph.

Would it be wrong? Yes! Is Manny the moron capable of doing such a thing? Yes! However, if he did it I think the league would have grounds to discipline him. All ball players are supposed to be ambassadors of the game yet there are those who choose to march to a beat of a different drum. Manny "Brain Dead" is one of those. Shelly Duncan was wrong. Don't compound the problem.

How would any of us know the answer to a question like this, and why would a kid say that when looking to get an autograph?

Yes it would. I still can't figure out why that guy did that, but if the kid keeps it he'll have something to look back upon.
Who knows, maybe some person will buy the darned thing.

it was all meant in good fun!!
He just made a mistake and didnt think before he wrote it but the kid has an authentic autograph one of a kind and one day hell be really lucky if the rookie is any good when he gets a few years under his belt!!
However as for your question it would be classless for manny to do that!
