Is it possible for a meteorite to make a whole village ill, such as the one in Peru?

That's unknown, their still testing it from what I've read.

It's possible it a combination of things making people ill, but I'll let the scientist decide.

It's hard to say. They hit the Earth too infrequently, but a big one or asteriod was considered to be the reason why dinos went extinct, mabye this is why.

It can be several things.

The meteorite could contain natural chemicals that are a health hazzard.

It could be radioactive contain some Uranium or Radium.

It could be there were chemicals in the soil that reacted to the heat and impact.

It could be there was a subterranian virus that got brought to the surface by the impact.

That wasn't the meteorite most likely; erven fi it did carry life, it's unlikely ti coudl affect us, the species barrier wuld be too great.

What is most likely is that it released some sulfur or something and posoined people. It's not alien bugs, if that's what your worried about.

The most immediate danger is being hit on the head.
If you took a hunk or rock and ate it you might get sick.
If it emitted some volatile vapor after heating in the atmosphere,breathing it could be detrimental.
