You should take up a collection and have her lawn paved over for her. Let them tell her to water that. Ha!

It is SO BAD right now. This is not a surprise. Take a look around you, read the news. The socialist system is so bad right now that you're not free anymore.
Read the Bill of rights and see if there's one amendment that hasn't been eliminated, violated o ignored.

Freedom is about to make your own choices in life. Today, you can't eat, drink or smoke what you want. You health, your job, your free time is under control, restricted and supervised. Your hard earned money is taken away from you to enforce this policies on yourself. Just check the statistics, how many government employees there are? how many unemployed? how many REAL working people? And by REAL I mean people creating REAL wealth, creating products and services that the market wants. You'll be amazed to see that each real worker is supporting a lot that not only are not creating wealth, they're wasting it for nothing. Just see how much money has been wasted in the war and how much protecting you from common crime. How much in the war on drugs and how much in road safety. What would you like to address first? What are the issues that affect your everyday life?

If this event made you mad, welcome to libertarianism. Remenber it next time you vote.

First, just so the record is clear
(1) She wasn't arrested for not watering her lawn. She was arrested for refusing to give her name to police (which can be mandated, constitutionally) and for "resisting" the citation for the lawn watering. Chosing to arrest the woman was a lapse in the officer's judgment, but she wasn't actually being arrested for not watering her lawn.
(2) Once the officer's actions were discovered by his supervisors, the woman was released, and the arresting officer was put on administrative leave. The police department has apologized, as they should have. So it's not like they're pressing charges against the woman.

But yes, that cop should not be a cop, and that police force must have a little better training in civilian non-threatening conduct.

I didn't even know Utah had grass. But yah, putting granny in jail for a yard infraction is a little over the top. I'm not mowing my grass this week in protest.

I think that should be a persons own choice if they want to water their lawn or not . I have a neighbor who never wants to mow his grass and I dont want to be a pain but i dont want snakes coming out of his yard into mine . If he does not mow it soon I will report him . It is also my concern . if he did not water it i would not care but mowing is a different story. good luck .

That stinks. Her choice could be to move here to Israel. During some summer months, if we have a drought, you get tossed into jail (actually, fined) if you DO water your lawn ;)
