My friend got her period for only one time for 1 day and then got it again 7 months later. Is this normal? Because she's really worried and I want to help her out since she doesn't have a mother. So please help me!

That's pretty normal. It takes years for a period to regulate and it it comon to miss several months between periods before you get it again.

Yes, this can happen in some girls just getting their periods - it is very irregular at first and can be absent for months.

However, even in those girls, a period for one day is unusual, it's possible that was another type of bleeding (e.g. hymen breakage) and then it was her real period 7 months later. Either way as long as she's healthy and getting periods now then it probably doesn't matter. I would say seeing a doctor can't hurt though if it's possible, especially if she's worried.

This could be normal if she is just beginning menstruation but it is a good idea for every young woman to visit the GYN. A doctor would be able to assess her and tell her what is normal for her body. Every womans body is different so if she is concerned she should at least call and speak to a doctor....she can request a female. She could also end up with someone she is very comfortable with discussing her body with since there is no mom.

For a young girl, that could be normal.
If she is 11 or 12 she should stop fussing about it. More regular periods will follow by the time she has her next birthday

It's not normal. Doesn't matter the age. You're not even supposed to skip 1 month, but 1 skip is okay. 7 months means the hormones are having problems. I would see a doctor.

If that is her first period then yes. Menarche is just the start of menstration and is often very irregular for about a year.

It is common, as a matter of fact, my sister and I had the same thing happen. Of course you would want to see a doctor to be sure she doesn't have a hormone problem.
