Tidal drag, caused by the moon. Eventually, the earth's rotation and the moon's orbital period will match. This means the earth will only ever show one face to the moon, much like the moon only shows one face now. The moons rotation was slowed to match its orbital period by the same effect.

It's the dragging effect of the sea's tides, adn the gravity of the moon. The effect is extremely slow (it will tkae 200 million years to increase the day length to an hour), but es, it does happen.

Not so ,I did work for NASA time lab. The differences are very small and only with a Cesium clock can U measure it.
