If the motel you are staying in is a chain, then you'll be able to get a few different prices from Expedia, Hotels.com, and a few others (my recommendation is Hotels).
If you are staying at the "249 Motel and Grill" kind of place it could be that they aren't on the net, have no affiliations with travel websites, or simply don't negotiate.
