it just happened to be a week when my mum was away.... i had to ask my dad, i was 13, and no one had discussed with me...... was a very awkward time, but my dad was very cool, and made me feel like a princess..... explained as best he could that i was now a woman...and treated me like royalty for a few days.... turned me from feeling scared, to feeling kind of proud!!?? lol, hadn't thought about that in years.... he is gone now... but a very cool guy, always knew the right thing to say.

I was a late starter, but to top it all, I did not have a mother.
She died long before I was 14.
Anyway, so there was no one to tell me about these things.
I was playing with some mates in a public park where there were swings, slides and so on.
I was wearing a short pants but never wore underwear underneath them anyway.
So that day, without me even thinking it could happen, it did while I was climbing the tallest slide in the park.
Sliding down left a bloody smear on the slide and my white soccer shorts a mess...
Actually, I still did not realize that it was my period and thought I had cut my self.
I took off the shorts to investigate behind a shrub and some strange girl, my senior by far came over and put a sweater around me and took me home to clean me up.
She also gave me some of her clothing to wear and a pack of pads. Even showed me how I should fit them.
I was so embarrassed, but also intrigued that this older girl knew so much about girlie stuff.
She was like an angel to me.
I never saw her again.
Wish I could meet her again and thank her for her kindness.

I had a few cramps in my lower back all day, and didn't know what was wrong. When I got home from school, I went to the bathroom and saw brown marks on my undies. I called my mom and asked her if this was normal since it wasn't red. She said yes, and I felt like it was the beginning of womanhood!

I was twelve.
Unfortunately it was in school and it dribbled down my leg.
All the boys started to laugh and I ran out of the school crying.
That was twenty years ago.
Even now on the first day of my period I still cry thinking about it.
Im sure you will have a better experience than me.

I was at home THANK GOODNESS!
Changed underwear, put a pad on, told mom when she got home, went out to get more pads, and everything was good.
