I was told this was safe once in awhile. But I have been spotting for about the last week. Almost like a light period. I am on the second week of my second pack of pills.

Is this serious?..I have done this kind of thing before...continuing without a break. I take my pills semi regularly...meaning it might be a few hours late before I get a chance to take it...and rarely miss a day. I have been on the pill for nine years.

When you don't take them as prescribed it could screw with your body, as you are finding out.

I skipped my placebo week and it took months to get my cycle during the fourth week pills, it would come during my active pills.

It is finally regulated now thank goodness, and I will never skip the fourth week again.

It's common to have breakthrough bleeding when you contine through a new pack without a break. It may last only a week, or it may last until your next period. Pills that have different strength for each week of your cycle can cause this. If you've been on the same pills for nine years, talk to your OB about some of the newer pills that are out. Seasonale is a new pill that if formulated so that you have a period only once every three months. That may be a better option for you.
