On my Pajero the indicator for 4x4 drive keeps blinking. There are times when it turns off but then in a little while starts again. What is causing this problem?

I have taken it 10feet or more back many times but it goes away and then after sometime the blinking starts. Sometimes when a bump comes in the road.

Sounds like the transfer case might not be engaging properly. What you might want to try, the next time it is blink, and you are someplace where you can do this, is to come to a full stop, shift into neutral, then shift into reverse, and back up about 10 feet. See if that resets it.

You may need to take it to be serviced.

Also, does it have "shift on the fly" type 4x4, or do you have locking hubs on the front tires?

Sounds like it could be any number of things, from a lose wire to needing to replace the fluid in the differentials, lubricating the 4WD propeller shaft, replacing the oil in the transfer case.
