Tigers are done. I guess they are once again watching tv in October instead of playing. They should be right back in it next year though.

It's over for the Tigers. The Tigers had their chance last year & next year they will return to their normal team status, losers & barely at 500. I thought Tiger fans were used to losing 100 games a year & being eliminated from play-off contention by the all-star break. Last winning season prior to 2006 for Tigers, 1993, last losing season for the Yankees,1992. The Yankees also have 90 plus wins from 1996 thru 2006. The Yankees alway better than Tigers.

the tigers could make the playoffs. The Yankees will win the East. The red sox really could have a huge fallout. Then the Tigers could win the Wild Card.

heres the deal the sox need a combonation of 4 red sox wins and tiger losses to make the playoffs. Now the tigers wont go undefeated, and the sox could easily take tonights game with buchholz stating, and then beckett and matsuzaka pitching against the Tampa Bay Triple -A's. That is three sox wins, and a tiger loss which in case you are really bad at math which i hope you arent equals 4 so the red sox will make the playoffs. hopefully by the division.

It is quite possible, especially the way Boston is playing right now but is still not likely. Detroit needs to basically win every game the rest of the way. And to the poster a few above me, don't go and pencil in a win for Buckholz or Dice K quite yet. It's baseball, even the best pitchers can lose on any given day, and the two of them are nowhere near the best pitchers in the game.

Nope. Not the way the Yankees are playing. Even if Boston loses the AL East title, they will still be the Wild Card winner.

I am right there with you on the wishful thinking. I want them to get to the wildcard badly. There is nothing like watching the game and having a couple of beers.

It could happen but it would take the Redsox to lose more games than the Tigers in the next two weeks.

Nope not happening unless the Yanks suffer a major collapse.
