the other day i saw 2 kids come out of a shop with a cd they had just bought. it came in a wooden box with a branded image, all kinds of photos and some special card containing a password for the band's website and special deals. i thought to myself, now that's a cd i'd pay for if i were into that band. then again, the reality is that the last time i bought a cd for myself was 1998. usually when you buy a cd for 15 quid is no better than what you'd get if you were to, ahem, aquire the music through other means. so if you do buy real cds, my question is why?

I like to buy them "used" unless it's a new release-(ya some come in special packages/boxes,etc) I got a few of those too.

Yes, I am addicted to buying CDs and I wish I wasn't. I haved boxes and music cases full of them and there is no way I will ever be able to listen to all of them. I have spent way too much money on them already. I keep thinking maybe they are an investment for my sons and they will enjoy them when I am gone. :o)

Yeah, I buy CDs but I don't do it reguarly. I only buy them when its from a band that I like. And as someone above me already said, the band deserves the proceeds for their music.

I bought two CDs two weeks ago, I like to build up a collection, but I don't buy them regularily, just when I see bands or music I really want.

I buy CDs because I've invested in an accurate sound system and want my music uncompressed. Also because I get my kicks sometimes editing or creating samples and those programs will all work with .wav files.
