How bad is the economy going to get?

Is it going to be.."don't take out any loans" bad or is it going to be "stock up on non-perishable foods" bad?

I am a technology student....just getting started in life...

It is going to get " new college graduates can't get a job, but experienced workers with jobs will do OK bad".
