There will be plenty of adults there so no serious harm comes to the children. These kids are going to have a tough time. Kids are cottled so much these days. Very few know what real work is or real chores. I know my kids are ready for electronic devices every year when we come back from camp. No hot water, no shower, no tv, computers or any other electronic device. I do think after this is over some of these kids will have a new appreciation for what they have.

technically they're not completely unsupervised who do you think is running the cameras other 8 yr olds? i know they're not there to interact with the kids or help them, but none the less they are there. and the parents signed the kids up for this. so they cant complain. teaching kids a lil responsiblity and survival is a good thing. too many kids these days are so sheltered they're blinded when they walk out into real world and see what it takes to keep a roof over your head and food in your belly. maybe some 8 yr olds arnt mature enough, but some are much mature for their age. i would never think my 9 yr old nephew could do something like that, but i think at 8 i probably would have been ok.

It's a ridiculous idea and exploitative. Maybe the producers were trying to make some point but there are other ways to go about it without traumatizing children.

Exploitation plain and simple. How smart is it to leave your 8 year old unsupervised. Did they think the 15 year olds who are strangers are going to watch them? How did they find so many parents to pimp out their kids? I'd like to know how much they were paid.
