You did say Romance Suspense right? OK, all these authors started out as very famous Romance writers so look for their other later works when they already shifted to the Romance Suspense genre.
1 Nora Roberts/ J.D Robb (Angels Fall---too many books to mention)
2 Linda Howard (To Die For, Killing Time, etc)
3 Julie Garwood (Heartbreaker, Mercy, Killjoy, etc)
4 Judith Mcnaught (Night Whispers, Someone to Watch Over Me, etc)
5 Iris Johansen (The Ugly Duckling, Long After Midnight, etc)
Well if you like the author you will definitely read all their books. For suspense thrillers
1 James Patterson (this on shifted to Romance-- how odd hehehe)--(Kiss the Girls, Along Came a Spider, etc)
2 Patricia Cornwell (The Body Farm, Cruel and Unusual, Body of Evidence, etc)
3 Kathy Reichs (Deja Dead, Deadly Decisions)
4 Jeffery Deaver (Bone Collector)
5 Thomas Harris (Hannibal, Silence of the Lambs)
To minimize your choices, try
1 Master of the Game by Sidney Sheldon
2 Silence of the Lambs
3 Presumed Innocent (legal thriller)
4 Primal Fear
5 A Time To Kill (legal thriller by Grisham-- this the time when he was still passionate about writing )

Read the "Prey" novels that John Sandford has written. They are about a Minneapolis/Twin City detective that gets into the wildest murder/crimes/suspense. They are a kick.

House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski. It doesn't have romance, but it's creative and suspenseful.
