The fact that the waste cannot be re-cycled effectively and that it cannot be disposed of safely plus the fact that it stays in its toxic state for millions of year means that there is NO "good" things about nuclear power. That's it!!!

Nuclear energy does not pollute. It creates a a large amount of electricity for a long time from a little fuel.

There are NO gaseous emissions. There is no carbon footprint.

It is perfectly safe, as long as you are using a standard power reactor plant and not a breeder reactor (Chernobyl was a breeder).

It is better for the environment then even solar power. (solar panel creation gives off pretty noxious fumes)

The only disadvantage is the nuclear waste, which can be recycled into new fuel rods, but most people don't know that so the building of the recycling plants typically gets blocked by cities.

It is the quick fix to our electricity needs.

You are asking for the positives of nuclear energy, i assume?

Here are my opinions on what is good about it:
It creates relatively low emissions of carbon into the atmosphere....um i cant think of any more good things about it, all the rest is bad.

Nuclear power is a great thing. It means we don't have to rely on 'dirty' sources of power like burning coal or oil. It is environmentally sustainable. It would help the US reach 'energy independence.' France and Japan get a large portion of their power from nuclear plants, and they do just fine. Modern reactors do not produce the mass amounts of toxic waste that the old ones did, and they are quite safe.
