I've only had 3 cars and one was just a few months but I named them. My friend got me started doing this. She called her old Chevette she bought to get to work in for a little while Bertha and then later on she called her Oldsmobile Butch. So, she said I had to have names for my cars. I had a red Ford Escort that I had for a long time so I said well her name is Old Red. Then when I totaled Old Red I got this used car. It was a Saturn and there was something wrong with it that made it jerk whenever it shifted gears. I called it Jerky. LOL. I made them take Jerky back cause they couldn't fix him so then that's when I got my red Chevrolet Cavalier that I have now. I named her Scarlet.

I used to have a Camry I called "Toy", then I got a Corolla, so I named her "Lil' Toy". And yes, I refer to the car as HER.

Jeez. I knew a whole bunch of people in college who named their cars! I found it VERY annoying! One guy called his old Pontiac "Ethel;" one girl called her Olds Cutlass "Esmerelda;" another girl called her old blue stationwagon "Josephine;" and even my best friend called his red and black Opel "The Red Baron."
My Honda Accord, on the other hand, was just "My Honda Accord." Although, I did tell people that Jesus's Apostles had one just like it, according to the Bible. Because it states in Acts, chapter 2, that "When the Day of Pentecost came, the apostles were all in one Accord!"

Cars are 'She's' perhaps because they are temperamental in the morning (try spelling that!).
Girls call their car names like Sally or Poppy.
Boys call their cars names too which I cant repeat here.
