Because I'm not. I still look, act, and dress like I'm 16 (I'm 22), and I don't have a job, other than school of course. In fact I remember one summer I was thinking about how it'd be the last summer that I'd live like a high school kid (you know, just travelling and hanging out with friends). That was 3 years ago, and my past summer of this year was spent like a youth. I wonder how much longer this will last, I really do, 'cause every time the summer roles around I wonder if I can just have fun all over again. I know I have to start a summer work history eventually, I DO want to get into med school and internships would help, but since I get excellent grades and am well involved in my college's student government and tennis club, I'm in no hurry to start maturing yet. I think people should try to grow up as slow as they can. Do you agree? Why or why not?

man i feel ya. im 21. i feel like every single summer im like "oh no, this is my last summer before i really have to grow up!" but nope. i do work over the summer, but most of my friends have important jobs like internships and stuff, and im just working odd jobs for my dad. im trying to get into the surgical technology program at my school, and i know that my days of having fun summers and carefree weekends are soon gonna be over, but yeah i definatley am having some trouble accepting that im growing up. not that i think im immature, but i think so many people take their childhood for granted. yeah, we're in our 20's but i mean, these years are just flying by and it blows my mind. you seem like youre on the right track, hell atleast your involved in stuff with your school and youre making the grades.

sometimes i miss high school, i miss the total lack of responsibility. i dont miss the immaturity of some aspects, but i swear if i could be that age forever, i probably would.

so in other words, yes i agree that people should grow up as slow as they can, and i dont think it should be frowned upon or looked at as being irresponsible by any means. good luck with med school!!! and i hope we have alteast one more summer ahead of us where we can act like kids one "last" time!

Try to get rid of all comforts of a sheltered and well-liked life, and you'll grow up fast, you won't even realize you're getting older and older, and nothing good hasn't come your way yet. Just try.

it depends where your from, and what society hands over to you...if you have the ability to take things that slow and feel comfortable with it then go ahead, however; in other places its the complete opposite..and yes i feel i'm growing up fast
