-THANKS!

hi there! go to the cardboard box in your closet , empty it out and cut a nice circle out of a plain flat area, and use a protractor to make the circle nice and clean. then find the exact center of the circle and poke a hole there. then take a chop stick and put it in the hole. paint your circle and chopstick or decorate it some way then wait for daylight ,facing east and set your sun dial for the straight horizon and you have to set it down and watch the day go by. i cant ,i have to work ,but what a nice thought! dream!!1

yes, there are simple ways. try googling homemade sundials. i made one once in school out of a paper plate and string, although i dont remember how to do it precisely.
