Why is it so hard to admit that the Yankees are the better team right now and will probably win the division LIKE THEY HAVE THE PAST 12 YEARS? Or maybe I'm asking the wrong question: How do you blow a 14.5 game division lead lol?

The sox are a joke, 1 W.S in 90 years lolol..They may have the best record in baseball but--not for long!

Hey Kris, theres a 3 way tie for the best record in baseball, and Boston has none of the tie breakers. The Yankees are only 2 behind that and playing the best baseball of any MLB team right now. So I wouldn't be so cocky if I were you. Yes you are still in 1st place but even in a tie with the Yankees, Boston gets the Wild Card.

The Boston Strangler strikes again. I find it amazing that there are Redsox fans out there who are bragging about a
2 1/2 game lead with the same ********* as they were when it was a 14 1/2 game lead. Well don't worry about it too much, The Yankees will try to make it quick and merciful. Afterwords, you can bury them in that big hole you have and send them to off-season Hell.(as least your hole will have a use then)
Cheer up Boston fans, at least you have a football team that will do what it takes to win.

The Red Sox only have the best record in baseball because the Yankees played so poorly the first two months of the season. For the last 3 and a half months, it hasn't been close.

The yankees are clearly a better team right now however we still have the better record for at least two more days :)!!!!!

The Red Sox have specialized in blowing pennants for years. No wonder their fans are traumatized into saying stupid things. They don't have a choice since it has been passed down from generatioin to generation. You've got to feel a little sorry for them. Well, maybe not.
Some year, maybe they'll decide to NOT have a normal World Series and just let the Sox play the Cubs. You know, a benefit series.

Looking at the standings I notice the Sox have the best record in baseball.
That leads to only one conclusion - they are the best team in the league.
As far as us Red Sox fans being stupid, I'd put my baseball knowledge up against your's anytime you'd like.

i think of the purple Sox will repeat as WS Champs. definite, I very lots keep in mind their dropping techniques (fan in view that '80 4; cried my eyes out in '86), yet this team has greater self belief, velocity, and overall skills (minus the bullpen) than the '04 team.
