I was playing basketball today in PE and I went up for a rebound and the ball came off the rim really sharply and smashed into my finger. It hurt really bad, but I kept playing. Then is started bleeding internally and I can't move it anymore

Well, since my xray vision doesn't work over the internet, I would suggest you go see a doctor, and have them tell you.

Well, it could be broken so put some ice on it and when the swelling goes down put heat on it. You could have torn some cartilage from the bone, but breaks are more common. You can get an X-ray, which you should, but if it is broken many times they just tape 2 fingers together as their is no other treatment other than a metal splint!

it could be one of 2 things you "jammed it" (dislocation) or fractured it since it is bleeding internally you need to go to the doc asap you have probably brole it and it has cut one of the veins/arteries and you could end up losing part of your finger due to improper circulation. the MD would know if you are going to need surgury. get it looked at now GL
