My ex makes around $50,000 a year but I am getting ready to claim child support and he has said that since he is self employed he will lie and say he makes $25 a month as he will not give me any money. I am sure he doesn't file taxes and even if he did he will lie on them. He said any woman that asks for child support is desperate and just money hungry. So that is what I am up against :-( He has visitation but hasn't seen my son in 2 years.

Thanks for the advice. The issue is I haven't wanted any child support if he would leave us alone, but he has just now started demanding visitation (for not him) but his family! He doesn't care if he ever sees him, but he won't sign off rights on him and let his step-dad adopt him, because he wants visitation for his mom! So I said well then you'll pay child support and that's how it all starated. What a mess.

Ok I don't know how to go about it but there is a why you can get his records but you will need anttorney for this. second yes he can lie and will and probably get away with it by him not seeing his son in two years I would not push the issue with child support I have been there and as soon as you file he will want visitation and will get a very low amount to pay for child support and then you will have to pay half of the transportation for your child to visit him our child custody case for my step kids has cost us over ten grand and we are only up to temp orders now so we are looking at least at another ten grand before it's over so if you cn afford it I would just not ask as you probably won't get more then a couple hundred a month or less my mom did the same thing to my Dad she only had to pay $60.00 a month for me. qand my husbands ex pay only two hundreed for their three teenage boy's nbecause she will not get a job and lives of the state by staying in school for the last 19 years. So good luck but if you can make it without the support and he has not been causing any trouble I would leave it alone other wise you could get in over your head. Now if there is a order saying he has to pay a certain amount and he's not paying then call the child support unit and turn him in. GOOD LUCK our case going on a year now.

You can hire an attorney who can get your husbands W2's from the previous year and submit that to the court or you can try and get those yourself. do some research on his company, find out what you can. But definitely take him to court for child support. I believe every parent should help support the child not just one.

they will subpeona his pay records you make him help with the child period. no one should threaten. period. its just saving face is why he won't sign his rights over his mom would look down on him so what. you just take him and he'll back back support also.
