Love, is undefinable, unfortunately. It'd be so easy if there were just one definition wouldn't it? For me, Love is a lot of things. Those things include cliche things, such as head over heels, can't stop thinking about them 24/7, willing to take a bullet for them, but it's also a lot of other things. These things I don't figure out until I fall into REAL love, not just lust, and a really really really huge crush that seems like love. Until then, all I can do is think about what the characteristics of love is to me. It's different for everyone. First we need to fall in love to find out what love means to us. There is also the kind of love we have for friends and siblings though, that's a different kind of love. The love that can last forever, and that, is possibly definable, but again, love is different for everyone.

- You quit seeing the faults of the other person.
- You want to do everything in your power to please the other person.
- There must be provision of the needs of the other person.
- The needs of the other person are placed before your own.
- Being Jealous is a sign that you love a person (I know this one will be controversial).
I am not an expert on love and do hope the few points I put up will help answer the question in some form or shape.

When I had my kids I knew what love felt like. Real genuine for sure love. I feel fear, a lot of fear. I'm afraid of losing them, I want to protect them, hold them close, give all the goodness that I possibly can to them. I want to care for them unconditionally, and would give them anything no matter what. There is no price, or object in this world that is more important. I fear not being here for them, I want them to be happy, and never see sadness, or misery. It is such a good feeling, but so scary at the same time. To me love is very powerful. It is completely positive, but scary. If I were to live without them, I would not feel anything ever again.

There is Love the feeling.
There is Love the stance (service)
When men love God, they are actually loving a part of themselves that they consider to be Holy.

It makes you feel safe and happy on the inside. You know that if something happens he or she will be there to help you along. It makes you see the world in very soft colours and you see the good in everything.

there are different kinds of love.
your love for your country. your love for your family. your love for your friends. your love for that special somebody.
in a brief, love is when you want the best for that person. when you're happy just knowing that he's happy. when you know that you'll do anything in your power to make him happy. the best love of all is unconditional love-it's when you don't expect anything in return

Whole hearted trust. Suffer your convictions. dont test each other. most importantly, just being there.
I dont know if I answered you question, but that is what works for me and my marriage.
