I didn't hate it, but it just didn't seem as emotional or engaging as 10. What do you think?

Just to clarify, what I mean is FFXII (vahn, penelo, ashe, etc.) not FFX-2. I agree that FFX-2 is kinda cutsy too though.

Yes i think so too. I collect and played all FF series and I am extremely disappointed with FFXII.
FFXII offers weak storyline compared to FFX and the rest of all FF series for that matter. The espers and quickenings are weak too, defeat the purpose of using them. And the worst part is that, if i dont have a walkthrough, i would have missed all the ultimate weapons for my characters coz i would have opened all the forbidden chest mainly for the zodiac spears. Why cant they make the usual FF they use to make i wonder. FFXII suck big time.
I dont hate FFXII, it just disappoint me thats all. I played it halfway and i stopped. I want to continue playing just for the sake of finishing it but i still cant find good reason to do so. My fingers just wont budge to do it.

I agree that the storyline wasn't as developed as previous FF games, and you don't get to know the characters as well. But I still enjoyed FFXII. I liked that the storyline was more realistic. And the battle system, gambits, and hunts more than made up for the weaker story.

of course, how can you compare being sent through time to save the world with a delivery boy just trying to stop a war.

not only that, but none of the characters in FFXII stick out. even the side characters in FFX had side stories that affected them, not so much in FF12

Yuna, Paine and Rikku seem cutesy and... just so girly. The story doesnt have an essence and the ending is very unsatisfying. Though final fantasy 10 is actually rated best for its story line, they just screwed it up with 10-2. Its still VERY fun to play and i love collecting the dress spheres, but sometimes i wished they made it more different.

The idea of Vegnagun and everything... its interesting but we always knew Yevon was hiding stuff. We need more of a twist! And by the way, that part where Yuna massaged Leblanc... that was just WAY out of wack.

I haven't played 12 in a while, but from what i've noticed is that for me, Vaan, doesn't stand out as a main character, as much as say Squall or Cloud, VIII being my all time fav. and VII being my second. Sorry, but Tidus and Vaan just don't stand out as kick *** main characters, okay, let me make an example. Squall SeeD mercanary carrying out missions for Garden, Cloud a former SOLDIER for shinra, both have kick *** swords, in Clouds mongolian esk Buster Sword and the final Ultimate Sword, his weapons, being almost bigger than himself. Squall, the famous Gun Blade, not just a blade but a gun aswell. Okay, and the limit breaks, what heaven, Cloud and the frigging awesome omnislash and Squall with the Leonheart limit breaker. I'm kind of losing track here but Tidus with that balls limit breaker, and Tidus as a main character, what a pussy, a BLITZBALL PLAYER, what happend to the strong SOLIDER and SeeD MERCANRIES, NO we get a frigging BLITZBALL PLAYER. don't get me started on Vaan, the first fighting sequence is him pussy footing around with rats. Cloud first sequence, fighting shinra soldiers, then that big *** red scorpion cyborg in midgar, squall a fmv sequence fighting syphier. what wouldn't draw you instantly to these games. Tidus playing blitzball, Vaan fighting rats, frig, i know which one i'd rather fight with.

Okay, back to the story, 12 just lacked that punch 7 and 8 had, great villians in sephiroth and syphier (i think i'm getting the villains name wrong from VIII). 10, was getting boring for me, the whole yuna and the summons. The only thing that draws me to play 12 and 10 are the battle systems, 10 at the time was different, 12 much more free. But with stories, they both lack great characters, awesome characters, villains that actually look bad *** and main characters that stand out as leaders. 7 and 8 were just interesting storylines i'd want to delve into, i enjoyed both playing and watching the stories unravel, 12 and 10, i just wanted to get straight down to the battle sequences.

I liked 12's story a lot more. Was the first story in FF for a long time that was bigger than "Wah! My life sucks!" and was instead" The world is going down the crapper, and I'm gonna fix it!"

very final fable has continually been easy for having form of unusual tale strains, even however XIII and XIII-2 are in basic terms nonsensical and pathetic. you may desire to play FFVII and VIII on the Playstation. 2 of my widespread in the sequence that have honestly coherent plots.
