The day i discovered that being a Pagan was who i was born to be. When i found that my beliefs had a home within the Pagan faith.
Blessed BE!

Fear can be paralyzing. About 10-11 years ago (after my husband and I divorced) I had a great fear of being alone, until a friend shared with me the following quote which I hung in a visible place and said every day. The fear is gone and I have been able to move forward.
"Many people suffer from the 'fear of finding oneself alone,' and so they don't find themselves at all." Andre Gide

For me it was when as a child, I first challenged the idea of God and the sky failed to open sending lighting bolts to strike me dead. This began the path of courage to question and challenge - to this day.
When you watch the news, look at commercials, follow political debates, listen to the health industry et al - objectively, you can see how fear-driven it all is. Just think about how successful (and rich) insurance companies are. How about the fear and projection of fear surrounding earthquakes. It's all quite silly, sophomoric, and moronic - if you ask me. I just wish more people were aware.

Feeling tired of or fed up is generally a sign that things have been going on too long. When we address issues in the moment, resentments don't build.
Fear is irrational. They are irrational. You can choose to have the same fears or not.

When I began changing MY life to avoid those thngs that put the fear into me I realized that by doing that I was handing MY power over to those things. By doing that I was surrendering to that fear. I decided that I cared too much for myself to allow that to happen so I decided to just walk right up to my fears, get to know them and to be able to identify them. Once you can face and name your fear, it is much easier to be able to overcome that. My fear was of rejection, as soon as I realized that if I were to be rejected that I would feel bad for a short time but that I would still be here afterwards. then I began to realize that rejection was an integral part of life and when faced, it could teach me lessons about my OWN self. As time went on and as I learned to make the adjustments in my own view of things I was better able to cope with thoughts of rejection. I still have a bit of hesitancy about it but I step right through that now, and make my moves. I still get rejected but I am better able to deal with it and learn from it, rather than hide in the corner and NEVER make anyattempts to advance and learn.

Four years ago, I lost three loved ones in three consecutive months, the grief was so profound it was all I could do to breathe. It was then that I realized that everything was outside my control except myself, I had to learn to let go. It hasn't been easy but I'm still a work in progress too, and distancing myself from any form a negativity is a daily practice.

There are just so many Theys and Thems! Seriously, and the problem i think is that they all think that they are right!
As with Ariel, when i finally acknowledged the true path for me, and to get in touch with my pagan roots...i find peace, acceptance, love and understanding in my choice of spiritual paths.
As a result of this, i am able to live my life without the fear of THEM....i find all that i need and am given assurance and love on a daily basis.
What a Blessing

i hope you find what it is you seek....for as long as we are seeking, we are progressing. It is when the search stops, that is when we tend to regress and stop growing spiritually.
blessings to you and yours

When I realized it was a control mechanism being used on me! When I realized that, I also realize I was the letting them use it on me. When for the third time that week the hospital called me about my bill, a stay in the hospital for a heart attack from working 2 jobs for years to pay all the other bills. I asked the person if they were going to pay for my next stay, which would be another heart attack from all the undue stress they were putting on me for the bills from the first one and quietly, defiantly, hung up on her!!

Never had this problem. I can't easily cope with the fears I inflict on myself, though. eg. needle phobia.

Hmm...a long time ago...but it still took me a long time to overcome, because most of my fear was self-generated.
