It all depends on how many times you've loved and lost, I suppose. Some people tend to find heartbreak real easily, and some people come out really lucky.
I've only been through it once. It wasn't really all that tragic but then again I wasn't 'in love' with the person, so. *shrug*

No magic number to determine when the possible heartbreaks will be over! You try, you work at it and you hope. If it doesn't work out, be grateful you learned something and move on. (Of course, this be grateful stuff may take some time!)
Yes, my heart has been shredded, bruised, ripped and torn and thrown away. More than once. And it has some scar tissue to make it a bit tougher. But I still hope.

Many, many times......but in the end, when you look back, you think.....wow.....why was I sooooo heart broken? But at the time it definitely seems like the end of the world and that is how we learn to love and be loved. For me.......true heartbreak......4 times......the 4th and last one was with my husband when we were first married......I will not go into detail but he broke my heart massively.....we worked it out....both learned from it and we have been insanely happy with each other for the past 9 years.....so sometimes your heart needs to break in order to really know what's worth fighting for.

I've never been in a relationship, but i had my heart broken MANY times by being let down by family and friends.
my parents picked up my older sister and forgot to pick me up from school. i waited there for 3 hours before they notice i wasn't home.

it gets broken as many times as you let (or permit) it to get broken...until you learn your lesson, I guess. I've been disappointed, disillusioned about people, made a fool of, and made a couple of poor choices but I never let that break my heart.

It happens as many times as they allow it to. For me it's been only one time. I didn't put my heart out there every single time I had a new boyfriend.
