Enjoy your 30's. I'm 53 and can't even remember my 30's, so make them count! :)

I can relate, I've been there and had anxiety over sudden realizations that age is not under my control. Just in the last year I've noticed some very significant changes in my skin and hair that are atypical to what I'm used to as a young-timer.

I wanted to share that perhaps you might consider that this feeling of sudden panic over having left young adulthood "forever" is only temporary, and you will be able to move on. I was trying to remember how old I would turn this year a few weeks before my own birthday, and got the trusty calculator to figure it out. It told me I would be 43 this year, which meant at the time I was still 42. All I can say is, the calculator *said* I am 42... but I swear I thought I was only 41 and would turn 42 this year! so, this may sound "cliche", but... "just you wait until the time comes when you can't remember how old you are, and you have to rely on calculators to tell you how old you are." eh... (place sheepish-grinning smiley-face here...) ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

You probably put too many expectations on yourself.

ENJOY what life has given you.
Think about what you have and how horrid it would be to lose it.
Understand that its all fleeting and you need to embrace the NOWs, not the COULD HAVES or SHOULD HAVES.

30 is just a number. Im 36. Almost 37. I feel like a kid.

Embrace the true you and count your lucky stars that you are here. Source(s) U2- Beautiful Day.
See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
See the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colours came out
It was a beautiful day
A beautiful day
Don't let it get away

Touch me, take me to that other place
Reach me, I know Iím not a hopeless case

What you don't have you don't need it now
What you don't know you can feel it somehow
What you don't have you don't need it now
You don't need it now, you don't need it now
Beautiful day

It is new. That's all. New set of years, The thirty's. So What? You are no different. Just 30. A time in your life measured by a number. That does not measure who you are or what you are. I never thought I would make it to 21. I did and themsome. Once I got past my issue about being 21, I have never looked back. Although, I do feel older every New Year's eve. Never on my birthday. Always on New Year's eve. Don't become distracted from what you are doing. That is Satan's favorite game. You are who you are becoming. Isn't it wonderful? It is a time to celebrate all that you have overcome. All that you have accomplished. Don't cut yourself short. Be thankful. Happy Birthday to you. God Bless.

Happy Birthday! You are a virgo just like me. I just turned 29 and have 3 kids, a husband, a dog and cat.
You are in college and it is a place where you see bunch of young girls in their early twenties. Perhaps it could be the reason you feel a bit older. We tend to compare ourselves with people around us. May be you can go hang out with your mom's friends or someone in their 40s or 50s. That will make you feel better.
When i went to college i was always the youngest in the class and even though i was aging (like everyone else) I always felt young and still do :-)

Good luck and happy birthday!

Don't buy into the hype that just because you're reached a certain age that you're life should be something that some one else says it should be. I'm 52 and if I listened to everyone who told me that I should have finished school, I should be going back to school or that I should have certain other things that a lot of people my age have. I have to live my life the way that is right for me and as long as I'm happy who's got the right to tell me that I have it wrong??? Don't let other's ruin your birthday you have things great now enjoy what you have and be glad that you have it.

Probably because you are getting older and you feel like you are not young anymore and it's a scary thing because things are changing. I know I'm getting closer to 30 with each birthday and it is scarying me because I had a plan for my life and I haven't accomplished a lot of the things I wanted to accomplish by the time I was 30.
