""""On December 7, 1941, following the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor, the United States declared war on Japan. Three days later, after Germany and Italy declared war on it, the United States became fully engaged in the Second World War.
U.S. involvement in the Second World War was quickly followed by a massive mobilization effort. With millions of men and women serving overseas in the nation's armed forces, most of those who remained at home dedicated themselves to supporting the war effort in whatever means was available to them. Women, who had worked as homemakers or had held jobs outside military-related industries, took jobs in aircraft manufacturing plants, munitions plants, military uniform production factories, and so on. As the need for steel and other resources increased, American citizens participated in rationing programs, as well as recycling and scrap metal drives. Americans also supported the war effort with their hard-earned dollars by purchasing Liberty bonds. Sold by the U.S. government, the "war" bonds raised money for the war and helped the bond purchasers feel they were doing their part for the war effort.

The U.S. entry into the war helped to get the nation's economy back on its feet following the depression. Although just ten years before jobs were very difficult to come by, there were now jobs for nearly everyone who wanted one. With the creation of 17 million new jobs during the war, workers were afforded the opportunity to pay off old debts, as well as to begin saving some of their earnings.

Not all Americans remaining at home gained favorably from the war. Fearing that Japan might invade the West Coast of the United States, the government rounded up thousands of Japanese Americans who lived on the West Coast, and confined them to internment camps. By 1948 when the internment program ended, thousands of Japanese, German and Italian Americans, as well as dozens of Hungarian and Romanian Americans had suffered as internees.

German Americans, and Italian Americans were interned as were Hungarians, Romanians and Bulgarians.

On May 8, 1945, Germany surrendered. After the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan surrendered on September 2, 1945, and the Second World War came to an end. The war cost the lives of more than 330,000 American soldiers. Many more were permanently injured or maimed. """

The text would be far,far too long to put on here where all the battles etc were fought and the history between the 2 country's in WW2.You will need some books on it.No one could cover the whole history on here. From Pearl Harbour to Iwo Jima the history is huge. Not forgetting after the war was declared over the 6 months of fighting in the Pacific between the British and the Japanese that in not so much documented.

The US had occupied Japan from 1945 until 1952 when a Peace Treaty ended the occupation. Currently, the US has some Naval, USMC and USAF bases on Japanese soil subject to treaties between Japan and the US. Also currently, Japan has their own "Self Defense Force" with ground, naval and air units. They work closely with US forces in areas of mutual interest. In addition, Japan owns numerous assets and businesses in the US. Think of all those Japanese auto plants in the US, They aren't owned by Americans. Also, the numerous Japanese auto parts suppliers with plants in the US. Other posters have noted that Japan owns a large amount of US Government debt. The list goes on. A better question is: "Does Japan OWN the US"?

Emperor Ming the Merciless decided to conquer Earth. He found Hitler to be too menacing, so he went with Tojo, who actually listened to him.

Ming sent his vaunted WiederFliegerKopt to Japan to assist in invading U.S. of A. They landed on California and advanced all the way to Chicago, where they were stopped by Flash Gordon and his league of Mercenaries. At this point, Colonel Chennault formed Legion of Flying Doom and went over to China and counterattacked. Ming was forced to recall WiederFliegerKorp back to China to protect his flank from being enveloped. Thus, U.S. of A was saved!!!

Then evil Ming decided to launch Suicide ballon attack, where a volunteer would get on the ballon and get above the enemy, grab a grenade, then plunge toward the earth, blowing himself up and his enemies. Unfortunatly, Flash Gordon learned of this fiendish plan and enlisted the assistance of Elite blow-dart Corp. They summarily devastated the entire ballon fleet before they could do any damage.

As the fortune turned against Ming the Merciless, he decided to launch his ultimate weapon of Mass Destruction, which he called BFG. However, before he could unleash his weapons of mass destruction, US dropped its own nuclear bomb, called Fat Bastard and Little gimp. They destroyed Japanese city of Bunko and Kanazawa. Unfazed, Ming planned to continue on the war, but a brave Japanese Samurai by name of Ninja Gaiden killed Ming, thus ending the WW2.
