I get on average 7-9 hours of sleep a night, I just burn out by that last class- I wish I could squeeze in a nap, but thats rarely an option, if ever. Which food items give you that energy boost?

*I don't consume caffeine or taurine at all though*

I had long days when I was in school and still believe that a good, sensible breakfast is the best way to start the day, even if its fruit juice and toast. Don't stay up late studying, either. Cramming is no match for alertness and screws up your next day. Do not forget to engage in some light physical activity to keep the blood circulating.

Exercise. I know it's easy to say you're too busy to exercise; however, 15 - 20 minutes each day of brisk walking or lifting weights or sit-ups, etc. will make you feel more energetic. For the first week or so it may not, but after that, you'll have much more energy to get through the day. Fruit, with it's high sugar content, will also give you a boost when you start getting drowsy in the afternoon.

Fruit is your best friend. Eat some at lunch and breaks... whether that be bananas, apples, kiwis, etc. A little protien may also help (crackers with peanut butter on them or a power bar).

Caffine will only last for short bouts, then bring you back down to a more tired state.

This problem is psychological. The best answer is from "antswife." You need to exersize until it HURTS. The best cure for nervous exhaustion is sublimation.
