Ok then, lets assume that they havent killed her, and ludicrous as it is, lets assume that this time they are telling the truth, that Madeleine was abducted whilst abandoned.
If the McCanns want us to carry on searching there is only one way..a Lie detector test.

If they both submit to a lie detector test and pass I will personally make a large donation to the fund and their legal fees.

If for some reason they will not submit to a test then I believe that speaks for itself.

So McCanns...it is Nonsensical and Ludicrous to expect us to believe you are innocent in spite of the large weight of evidence against you and your proven track record of lies.
If you are genuinely innocent, prove it, otherwise please SHUTTFUP.

Now...anybody got suggestions for the questions we should ask???

Snetterton..if you read the question you will see I am not suggesting the results could be used as evidence...but if they are innocent what a great PR victory a negattive result would be...

Think of it..."McCanns proved innocent" all the headlines would read...

even if they didnt kill her (if she is dead) they are just as guilty as the peron or persons who did, they neglected their three children to go out with friends which is appauling, i have four children, my oldest is ten years old and i wouldnt leave her alone!! for them to have lied about things to the police and to have re fused to answer many questions must mean that they are hiding something, they are dispicable parents no matter what, i have no sympathy for them, my sympathy is for maddie, to all the pro mccanns, would you leave your children alone? yous seem to think they have done nothing wrong by doing this so i think yous should wake up and look at what they did

The McCanns whether deliberately or not have successfully held centre stage since it began severely hampering the hunt for Madeleine!!!

In other answers snetterton2 quoted family sources as if it were scientific evidence!! It really highlights the disinformation and spin being put out by them about the police and funnily the almost never mention Madeleine!!!

A lie detector test would not be reliable. If innocent they have been on an emotional roller coaster and their reactions would be wildly higher than normal. If guilty then they have brazened it out long enough to have psyched themselves into believing their cover story as true.

But questions could be asked about why the fund has spent so little of the donated money to find MADDIE.

Why the family have grandstanded and talked about themselves all this time instead of finding Madeleine.

I am sure that at some time in the not too distant future someone in the media will watch all the footage and comment on the lack of mention of Madeleine by them!!!!
And, perhaps the fact that it hindered the search for her in the vital early days!!!!

Forget the McCanns - lets get back to finding Madeleine. That is where the true humanitarian and thinking people should be concentrating!!!!

Lie detectors are sufficiently unreliable that few jurisdictions rely on them as evidence.

As far as I'm aware, no-one outside of the anti McCann brigade have even suggested a lie detector test but you have managed to deduce that they have "refused" to submit to a test.

A cornerstone of our judicial system - and that of all civilised nations, including Portugal, is that the burden of proof in criminal cases lies with the prosecution. The McCanns are not under any obligation to prove - to you or anyone else - that they are innocent. They are entitled to the presumption of innocence until, and unless, their guilt is proved.

There is no "large weight of evidence" against them - not in the public domain at any rate. The PJ do not yet have enough evidence to charge them either or we must presume they would have done so by now so you can drop that ridiculous claim.

ok, firstly, they are not guilty..yet. also, with all the press following them around since the beginning of this case how could they have bundled the kid into the hire car and got rid of the body?? I am not saying it is not possible but the risk of being caught in the act would have been very high and anyone keeping the child close to the crime scene whilst everywhere is being searched would aloso be very risky. as for the lie detector i think the solicitor has probably told them to stay away from the test as it is not 100% accurate and you know what the scum.... i mean press are like, if they had a 99% truth result the press would turn it around saying that they could be the killers. this all said i think like most others that it is a disgrace that they left the kids in the first place.

I don't know if they are innocent or guilty but what I do know is the present propaganda campaign being conducted by this gruesome pair and their cohorts is absolutely disgusting. So the Press has tried them and found them innocent. Fine.
Any evidence, real or imagined, has been undermined by this bunch. Once the government spin machine becomes involved you just know it will be a whitewash.
What gets me is the fact that they say they would like to return to Portugal on holiday. I just hope that the Portuguese authorities declare them persona non grata. Their track record for child care is appalling.

I think you'll find the pros will start saying how insensitive it is that you are asking this of two suffering parents.
To be honest, even if they did take a lie detector test, I'm not sure if I'd believe them 100%, as many have pointed out here, they are trained as doctors so can remain calm in stressful situations. I think in their case the result could be well incaccurate.

Um...Andrew T, a lie detector test is not scientific enough to be 100% reliable. You know that, don't you? Naturally, the McCanns are wary of such an instrument with the amount of accusations hurled against them.

Yup, if they do it & it shows them innocent, it would help them tho' not a lot as folks who deride them would yell foul that this just as an approximate indication of innocence which is faulty.

Now, it they do it & it shows them guilty, the flak they'd get would surpass the support they would have got it it had shown them innocent a 100fold.

Hope you get my point. Makes complete sense to stick to facts & avoid unreliable indications of innocence/ guilt.

Edit: Andrew T, i try to be measured & reasonable in my replies, ALWAYS. No, my views on the McCanns are just the same....don't dare hurl accusations of murder without evidence to back you up. I don't believe the McCanns murdered their baby daughter. Well according to the news half an hour ago, they have been cleared of any involvement in Maddies disappearance. AND I THINK IT IS THE BEST NEWS FOR WEEKS.THERE IS NO CONCRETE EVIDENCE TO TAKE THE CASE ANY FURTHER. THE D.N.A.EVIDENCE IN THE BACK OF THE CAR,BELONGED TO THE TWINS.
