Using a cycle of 23,000 years, express all numbers in scientific notation and divide.

4.6 x 10^9 divided by 2.3 x 10^4

First divide the 4.6 by 2.3 which equals 2
Now subtract the exponent 4 from the 9 which equals 5

Now combine: 2.0 x 10 ^ 5
note that you leave the 10 alone
