A staged event specifically for the media cameras present.

The student (Meyer) is well known for hoaxes. The hoax at the University of Florida which was intended to humiliate the police, the university and Senator Kerry was carried out and planned by a number of students. Many of whom started posting on Yahoo Answers almost immediately. It was a publicity stunt intended to get Meyer on the news since it is the only way he will ever be involved in journalism.

The obnoxious kid was being disorderly and then he resisted arrest like a psychotic mad man. He got what he deserved. Had he just left when they tried to escort him out, he probably would not have even been charged with a crime.

If he had tried to pull that stunt at a President Bush event, the boy would be sitting in Cuba right now with the inmates at Guantanamo Bay.

You saw the videos and you still think that boy had a right to do that. He was asked and told repeatedly, he blatantly refused to disobey an direct order. This is beyond the "freedom of speech" and, in the first place, he had no right to freedom of speech here, he wasn't an invited guest.
He was given a direct order, he refused to obey and upset the entire meeting, he deserved what he got. He may have had a hidden gun, like the Virginia incident, were they suppose to "wait and see" would this be suited for you to see someone shot up the place before action was taken or should preventive action be taken to stop any future violence?

I think you should rethink your position on this and reconsider your own thoughts, because I was and, have taken part in such incidents like this. You have no idea what takes place and, the actions needed to stop this type of violence. You don't know this man was on drugs, if he was armed, if his intentions were to harm anyone, this all has to be addressed in seconds and, action has to be taken before someone is injured.

Do you know what a taser is? Do you think it would have been a better idea to wrestle around with the idiot until somebody got punched or kicked in the face? You know why they use tasers? It's the least harmful way to control somebody resisting arrest.
If this guy was illegally detained and/or arrested he has recourse. Just so happens, fighting the cops isn't one of them. The officers involved did the right thing.

I don't think they should have tasered him. He should have left when his time was up. He also got upset when the mike was turned off. He resisted when the security was trying to lead him of. I read that he has a web site where he posts outrageous videos of him doing crazy stuff. Need to look at it. Maybe he was doing it for some stupid stunt.

Our free speech has been gone a while now it went down the drain with the US constitution.
I hope people will soon realize this before it is too late and more people get hurt and more rights are lost.

they had no right to do this . IF- IF he refused to leave they could have carried him out he never hurt anyone these tazers have killed 2 people in my city in just 2 months by the KCPD it is torture
against those who are unarmed and they cant get away shooting at them.

I can't believe it happened in America. It is an outrage. This kid should sue everyone involved. How can we expect Iraq to become a democracy when we don't have one here anymore?
