Jason, in my humble opinion, the worst thing he did was to not surrender honorably.
By not doing so - EVERY German: women, old folks and CHILDREN were forced to fight. Little boys trying to stop tanks in the heart of Berlin. There was a unit (bad word) of the older veterans called the Volksturmm. They were mobilized.
He basically murdered his own people by forcing them to keep on fighting. He justified this by saying they were weak and had failed Germany and, more importantly, HIM! Pathetic.

As Russian troops advanced on Berlin, Hitler ordered the Liebstandarde Adolf Hitler (1st SS pzr Dvn) into a suicidal counter attack. The comander refused and so the division was branded as cowards and ordered to remove their waffenbarb (Band worn around the left arm by elite units).

He gave order to Nazi organization of "Werewolves", a sort of Nazis resistence, , to destroy all industrial plants of Germany, in spite to Germans Live and capability to survive to war. He thought that that was a sort of "End of the world" , the German pagan "Ragnarok", so nothing have to survive to his death. I think this aay enough on Hitler
