My daughter just got married last week, to a Marine, and we had to go thought all of this, we live in Missouri. First take your marriage license and social security card to the social security office and tell them that your wanting to change your name on your social security card, next go to the license bureau and tell them you need to change your name on your driver's license. They'll also want your marriage license and you'll have to pay for a new license.

If you are changing your name due to marriage it is fairly simple. Bring a copy of your marriage certificate, and Id with you to your nearest Social Security Office. They will give you paper work to fill out, and I believe it may even be FREE to do so.
If you are changing your name with out a marriage it is more complicated and has to go through the court system.

What you need to do is contact your local court house and get the papers to change your name. You need to file a motion to the court. It may cost some money.. but you will be able to do it that way. What you can also do is talk to a local Lawyer and see the route you need to go.
One thing I am confused about is why did you not change it when you got married? When you got married you should have been able to change it then.
But call a your local court house and get the paper work started.

You just need to change it with the DMV and Social Security office. They will require a copy of your marriage certificate. Other than that , just start using your married name.

You already have the right to his name since you are married. All you need to do is change it with Social Security, then your driver's license, and notify all creditors, etc. that your name has changed. You will need your marriage license to change it with the Social Security Office and License Bureau.

Get a copy of your marriage certificate. Bring it down to the DMV and have them change your license. Do the same with social security - they have forms for name changes. Change it on your passport by sending in a copy of your marriage certificate and the correct form. Bring the copy of your marriage certificate down to any financial institutions you utilize and fill out forms to change the account name to your married name. Fill out the correct forms for any credit cards, utility bills, etc. for name changes.

if you are married your name is changed unless you didn't change it at the time you married.. but if you mean getting your social security and drivers license i would think you would just take the papers with you to the SS office.. you can go on line and find out what you need to take with you for proof..not sure what your meaning..

Check with your local Court Clerk's office for the proper form and fee as the form of petition and fee charged varies by jurisdiction.
