I take issue with the way the question is worded. I would ask, "If you HAD to sacrifice your life for a cause, what would it be?" The reason I say this is you are not making a "sacrifice" if you want to give up your life.

So, there is no political or social issue for which I would be willing to sacrifice my life. It would have to be for a person who I loved such as husband and/or child.

Well, I'm training to be a firefighter and while we take very strict safety measures there is still the possibility of an accident. So if I sacrificed my life it would more than likely be for another human life -one of my fellow firefighters or a complete stranger.

I tend to agree with the anal person (anal on issue of "would" or "have" to sacrifice) pretty nitpicky if you ask me, but I agree that in today's world there really is not a political or social issue that I would voluntarily give up my life for. Call me selfish, but I want to live, I love life I enjoy life, but most importantly (having suffered the death of one of my toddler girls---i can't imagine anything that would allow me to freely leave my children behind to grow up without me, without the nourishment of "mommy". I know this is probably more for me than them as they are relativley young and would make it, in fact my youngest probably would not even remember me, she is only 3. I just can't imagine the sadness my 8 (soon to be 9) year old would endure without me and I don't want her to have to find out what life is like without a mom.

Having said that, I would unequivocally without ANY hesitation give up my life if it would save the life of any of my kids. As for the person who answered to stop Hitler, I do agree. If I lived duringt the holicost I most certainly would sacrifice my life to bring down Hitler

Nothing, God will take it eventually so I feel that I really do not have to sacrifice it for anything.

I think that I could have given my life to somehow stop Hitler. If I were able to go back to that era of history and knew of the millions of people who suffered and died because of his fanaticism, I would have tried to "get to him" first.

If I died so no child would suffer hunger, pain, neglect or abuse again, I would do it gladly. My only regret would be that I only have 1 life to give.

Making the love of Christ known to the world. NOT religion, but a relationship. It would be the ultimate act of loving my neighbors as myself.
